I lived with the painting in the studio for a further three days tweaking detail here and there but called in my framer Gordon Miles. Gordon is a first class framer and a brilliant painter with a great understanding of colour. He felt the foreground needed working on, knocking back the light on the butt stones and killing the viridian greens on the left hand side of the painting…he hates viridian! I followed his advice and it made a difference.
